ALLERGY WATCH – Volume 2, Issue 1; January – June 2008 

Allergy Club Welcomes Baguio Chapter

After two and a half years of existence, the Allergy Club continues to grow. The latest addition is the Allergy Club in Baguio. This chapter is the first outside of Metro Manila and its most welcomed! 

This chapter is being put up under the leadership of two active Baguio allergist, Dr. Chona Burgonio and Dr. Therese Tolentino. Though there are many allergy sufferers in this region, it was a challenge to start the club since almost everyone is busy with personal activities. Due to their common goal to support each other and reach out to allergy sufferers, the officers and members of the club gladly accepted the challenge to become the “original” members of the Baguio chapter. 

Because of the slated big celebration on allergy awareness this coming July 8, for the National Allergy Day, recruitment of members was started last April 2008. This was followed by the election of officers on the last week of May. 

We gladly announce and congratulate these folks who have signified their willingness to serve: President – Antonio Roberts Aguas, Vice-President – Charbel Madarang, Secretary – Mhyra Lee, Treasurer – Rose Dominguez, Public Relation Committee: Nannette P. Filler, Sr. Adelina Javellana, Agaton Yararon. The chapter coordinators are Dr. Chona Burgonio and Dr. Therese Tolentino. The oath taking of the officers will be held in Baguio City to be followed by the official announcement and welcome of the Baguio Chapter on the 5^th National Assembly of the Allergy Club on July 13, 2008 at the Quezon City Sports Club, Quezon City. 

In its latest count, the Allergy Club now has four chapters and its membership has grown into 280. This club is open to interested allergy sufferers (and parents too) who would like to learn more on how to control their disease.
